Anya's First Day and the Strict Teacher

It was Anya’s first day at school.

She wore her new uniform, tied her hair with red ribbons, and carried her favorite water bottle. But inside, Anya felt a little scared.

When she reached the classroom, she saw a tall lady with glasses standing near the board.

“That must be my teacher,” Anya whispered.

The teacher looked serious and didn’t smile much. She spoke in a loud voice, “Good morning, class!”

Anya sat quietly at her desk and thought,

“Oh no! My teacher is very strict. I don’t think I’ll like her.”

The day went on. They learned numbers, drew pictures, and had lunch. Anya made a few new friends, but she was still worried about the teacher.

In the afternoon, the teacher said,

“Now it's poem time! Everyone will say one poem aloud.”

Anya’s heart started beating fast. She had learned a poem at home, but now she felt nervous. When her turn came, she stood up slowly.

She looked at the class. Her voice was low.

She said the first two lines, then… she forgot the next line!

She looked at the teacher with teary eyes and said softly,

“Ma’am… I forgot…”

The class was quiet. Anya was ready to cry.

But then something surprising happened.

The teacher came close, knelt down, and smiled.

“It’s okay, Anya. Take a deep breath. I’ll say the next line with you.”

Slowly, the teacher helped Anya remember the poem.

Anya smiled and said the rest of the poem loudly. Everyone clapped!

After class, the teacher gave her a star sticker and said,

“You did very well, Anya. I'm proud of you!”

Anya smiled back and thought,

“She’s not scary at all. She’s kind. I was wrong.”

🧡 Moral:

Sometimes, people are kinder than they look. Don’t judge too soon!
