Kids Short Story - Worrying does not solve any problem.

A long time ago, there was a very big banyan tree outside a small village. A male and female crow lived on that tree with their children. After a few days, a snake made a house in the hollow of that tree and started living there.

When the crows went out in search of food, the snake would eat the small children born from the eggs in their nest. This happened twice. The crows felt very sad. The female crow said- We should leave this place because as long as this snake stays here, it will not let our children live.

The male crow was also feeling very bad, but he could not think of any way to fight the snake. Finally he thought of taking advice from his wise friend jackal.

He went to the jackal and told him the whole problem. The jackal said- You cannot get rid of the snake by worrying. Use your mind and destroy the enemy. The clever jackal thought for a moment and then told him a brilliant plan to destroy his enemy.

The next morning the crow and his wife flew to the river bank, where the queen came to bathe daily with her maids. They took off their clothes and ornaments and entered the water. The guards were standing at a distance guarding the luggage. The crow picked up the queen's necklace and flew away.

The crow flew after it, cawing loudly to attract the attention of the guards.

When the guards saw them carrying the necklace, they ran after them brandishing swords and spears. Soon they reached a banyan tree and saw that the crow had thrown the necklace into the snake's burrow.

They tried to pull the necklace out with the help of a long stick. The snake got irritated and came out hissing. The guards got scared and beat it to death with sticks. Then they took the necklace and went away.

The crow and his wife were very happy to see the snake dead. He thanked the clever jackal for his help. After this he started living happily with his children on the banyan tree.

Moral:- Worrying does not solve any problem.
