Part 1: Untold Love

The soil of village **Dhanoli** still had the same sweet smell, which was once associated with Anika's childhood memories. Tall mango trees, crops swaying in the fields, bullock carts bouncing on the unpaved roads - everything was the same as before. Only, time had moved on… and with it some relationships had also changed.

Today, after five years, Anika had returned to this village. Somewhere between the glitz and busy life of the city, her mind often wandered to the streets of this village. And now that she was here, everything started feeling like her own again.

But the thing that she was feeling the most was **Raghav**.

The same boy from the village, who used to laugh at everything, who used to sit under the shade of a tree and tell stories to his friends, the same Raghav, with whom her untold love was associated.

### **A childhood relationship that could never be expressed…**

The laughter of the boys sitting in the village square was echoing. Some farmers were returning from the fields with their ploughs hanging on their shoulders. Meanwhile, Anika looked around – and saw that Raghav was sitting under the same tree.

The same carefree style, the same light smile, as if time had not touched him.

The old days flashed in Anika’s eyes. How many times she and Raghav had sat together at this very place, had made a bet to throw the mango seeds, sometimes quarreled, sometimes talked for hours… but then it was friendship. Or maybe something more than that… but both of them never said it openly.

Today, when she returned after five years, would anything have changed?

Just then, Raghav’s eyes fell on Anika.

Everything stopped for a moment.

Raghav got up and came towards her. **"How did you remember the village after so many years?"** There was a slight sarcasm in his voice, but there was something else in his eyes- maybe a question, maybe a complaint.

Anika tried to smile forcibly. **"That's it… I had left something incomplete, I have come to complete it."**

Raghav took a deep breath. **"We too were left incomplete, Anika…"**

The cold breeze of the village was hinting at a new story.

### **To Be Continued…**

**(Will the distance between Anika and Raghav be reduced? What was that incomplete feeling that pulled him back?)**
