Short Kids Story- Bulbul squirrel

Hindi story of a squirrel: A squirrel named Bulbul lived in a forest. She was very playful and kept jumping around.

Many times the animals of the forest explained to her that it was not right to jump around and do mischief so much but she did not listen. She enjoyed doing all this.

One day Bulbul was jumping around on a tree. Then a bear named Bholu came there and Bulbul jumped and sat on his back.

Bholu: Sister Bulbul, you are doing mischief today as usual. Last time because of you my foot slipped and I fell in the mud.

Hearing this Bulbul started laughing.

Bulbul: Sorry Bholu, seeing you I feel like teasing you but I promise that today I will not do any mischief with you.

Bholu lies down under a tree and starts resting. After some time he wakes up hearing Bulbul's voice.

Bulbul: Save me, save me, I was stuck here on the branch of the tree.

When Bholu reaches there, he sees that Bulbul is hanging by her tail and can fall anytime. He runs and calls all the animals.

Bulbul: Brothers, save me. I was climbing the tree when my tail got stuck between two branches.

After some time, the giraffe reaches there and frees the squirrel from the tree and puts it down. Bulbul thanks everyone.

Bholu: I have seen the result of your mischief. Promise me that you will never do mischief again.

Bulbul promises. She used to sit quietly on a tree for two days after eating food. But she was very sad. She enjoyed jumping.

One day when she was sitting on the tree, she saw a mischievous monkey jumping from one branch to another. Seeing this, Bulbul also felt like doing the same.

The next day she decided that she would go to another forest away from the forest and play so that the villagers would not know about her mischief.

As soon as it was morning, she reached another forest avoiding everyone. As soon as she reached there, she saw a big pond. She thought why not take a bath first.

As soon as she reached near the pond, a bird called out to her –

Bird: Sister, are you new to this forest? Stay away from this pond. Whoever goes to take a bath in it, one part of his body disappears.

Bulbul: Wow, how can this happen? You are scaring me falsely.

Bird: It is your wish, I was just warning you. Go and take a bath, you will know.

Bulbul did not listen to anyone, she took a dip in the pond. She enjoyed it a lot. She kept bathing in the pond for a long time. When she came out of the pond, the bird started laughing seeing her.

Bulbul: Why are you laughing?

Bird: Where is your tail?

Bulbul turned around and saw that she did not have a tail. She looked very bad without the tail.

Bulbul started crying. She went to the pond and asked for her tail back.

Morning turned to evening but she did not get her tail back from the pond. Defeated, Bulbul started walking back. Then a voice came from the pond.

Pond: This is a magical pond. The bird had forbidden you to bathe here but you did not listen and that is why you lost your tail.

Bulbul: Forgive me, now I will never use anyone's things without asking.

Pond: Now you go to your forest and apologize to all the animals and stop doing mischief from today. Help everyone in the forest, then gradually your tail will come back.

Bulbul comes back to the forest. The next day everyone starts making fun of the squirrel without a tail. But Bulbul does not feel bad, she apologizes to everyone.

Then she promises to help everyone. She brings grains for the bird's children in the rainy season. She plucks fruits from the tree and drops them down so that Bholu the bear can pick them up and eat them.

In this way she starts helping all the animals, due to which everyone blesses her and with their blessings her tail slowly comes back. Seeing this the squirrel is very happy.
